Another Self-Help Group success story

Joyce Nakazyali is a member of Atuchibweze Self Help Group (SHG). She is married and has six children. She has many difficulties before she joined the SHG at Siasopo village. She faced the problem of insufficient funds and financial aid to start a profitable business. However, everything quickly came together for her once she joined the group. She took loans from the group in order to start her business. She has borrowed a maximum of K800 (approximately 70.32 US Dollars) and a minimum of K300 (approximately 26.37 US Dollars). She is in the business of baking fritters and also purchasing and reselling malasha (charcoal) in Livingstone.

Joyce says the profit she makes from her business enables her to pay school fees and she was able to purchase herself a kitchen unit.
