Academic Work supports 50 more girls

It’s a new year and it is the beginning of a new and exciting year for many orphan school
girls to our sponsorship program. Our sponsorship program supports 850 girls in school, and now when a new school year started in January, 50 little girls who have not been able to pay for their school fees have now been admitted by the program and have been given a lifetime opportunity to go to school.

In Zambia most vulnerable children do not have an opportunity to go to nursery school, they wait until they are 7 years old to be first graders at a primary school which is not as costly as a nursery school. In Zambia nursery schools provide excellent opportunities for children seven years and younger to get a head-start on the expectations of primary school , although this is not a requirement by law.  All the 50 girls have been to nursery school.

Even though most primary schools are not very expensive, some families still cannot manage to send their children to school. These girls are starting the New Year in style with enrollment into grade one, a new uniform, new shoes, new bag, new socks. Everything is new, what will stop these girls from smiling and having a joyful soul?
