Kusiima Self Help Group is a Women’s group of 19 members  which started in July 2010 after Response Network intervention. This is but one of many groups under Response Network in Kazungula. This was a joyous moment because they were celebrating 4 years of existence. The SHG is a save and borrow concept where women meet every week. During meetings they save money by contributing about 50 øre or ten cents a week (which is a lot of money for them) and at the same time those that have needs borrow by way of getting loans and pay back after a certain period with 10% interest. The women have invested these borrowings into various businesses which has in turn seen an improvement in their lives.
