Helping the old people

The girls under the Sponsorship program have their way of appreciating the support that they get. Every Saturday the girls go to Maramba old people’s home, this is a home for people above the age of 65 that have no one to take care of them. This home is run by the government under the social welfare ministry. As a way of saying thank you, the girls go and clean the surroundings of the old people’s home. The older girls also help with the preparation of meals. The old people are always happy to have these girls around as this gives them a sense of belonging. You will find the girls chatting and cracking jokes with these people just like they do with their grandparents at home.
