Home visits

As a side project to village self-help programs, RN in a partnership with Academic Work support orphaned girl´s possibility to go to school in what RN calls; Sponsorship Program (earlier Kubala Girls).

As a co-worker at AW I get the chance to give 1 % of my salary to orphans. The money goes to school fee´s, uniforms and material – fees that no other adult can pay for. So far co-workers from AW make it possible for 950 girls to go to school in the area around Livingstone.

Today we did home visits and follow-up for some of the girls, to make sure they are doing fine. They often live with their grandparents or other relatives.  The possibility to education for these orphans has a great impact on their future.

Academic Work is a partner to Response Network, that´s how I first got connected to RN. Except from the Sponsorship Program, Academic Work is part of the village self-help programs. Since the start of the partnership have over 30 community schools been built by the villages, but where Academic Work has been a provider of building materials. This has made a possibility to education for over 6000
pupils.
